Key features explained
- The World’s First 39″ 5K2K OLED Gaming Monitor: This monitor’s 39-inch 21:9 curved OLED panel delivers an ultra-wide field of view, expanding immersion for gaming and giving you more room for multitasking. With a dense pixel count (143 PPI), you get crisp, detailed visuals across every scene—useful for both AAA games and productivity.
- AI Upscaling to 5K2K—No GPU Upgrade Required: Built-in AI Upscaling analyzes your content, enhancing lower-resolution images and video to look sharper on the 5K2K display. This means you can enjoy improved detail even if your current graphics card cannot output at the monitor’s native resolution.
- Next-Gen Brilliance with 4th Gen RGB Tandem OLED: The advanced OLED panel reaches up to 335 nits typical brightness and uses a 4-stack RGB structure for better contrast, color accuracy, and power efficiency. This results in vibrant, sharp images and more lifelike colors.
- UL-Verified for a “Perfect” Visual Experience: UL verification certifies the monitor delivers true black levels (Perfect Black), accurate color reproduction under various lighting conditions (Perfect Color, 100% Color Fidelity), and faithful rendering of game content (Perfect Reproduction). This assures visual quality is maintained in real-world environments.
- Deeper Detail with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500: With this DisplayHDR certification, the monitor can reveal deeper blacks and nuanced shadow detail, making dark scenes in games or movies more realistic. The monitor also covers up to 99.5% (typical) DCI-P3 color and features Delta E≤2 color accuracy for vivid, precise visuals.
- High 143 PPI for Sharp, Detailed Visuals: The high pixel density ensures that small text, HUD elements, and fine details remain crisp, reducing eye strain and improving clarity not just in gaming, but also in everyday tasks such as writing, browsing, and document work.
- More Room to Create with 5K2K Ultrawide: The expansive screen allows you to keep multiple windows visible, edit video timelines, or retouch photos with room to spare. This is especially useful for content creators and multitaskers who benefit from a large, high-resolution workspace.
- Dual Mode: 5K2K 165Hz for Detail or WFHD 330Hz for Speed: The monitor’s VESA Certified Dual-Mode lets you switch between ultra-detailed 5K2K at 165Hz for immersive games, or drop to Wide Full HD at 330Hz for the fastest response in competitive titles. This flexibility is ideal for users who play both cinematic and fast-paced games.
- Near-Instant 0.03ms (GtG) Response Time: With a rapid response time, the monitor reduces ghosting and blurring, ensuring fast-moving action stays clear and responsive, which is crucial for high-speed gaming.
- NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible & AMD FreeSync Premium Pro: Adaptive sync technologies minimize screen tearing and stuttering by matching the monitor’s refresh rate with your GPU. This ensures smooth, fluid gameplay, regardless of whether you use an NVIDIA or AMD graphics card.
What to look for in this kind of product
- Resolution and Screen Size: For an immersive gaming or creative experience, high resolution and screen real estate are top priorities. The LG 39GX950B-B offers a 39-inch curved ultrawide display with 5K2K (5120×2160) resolution, which is more than 30% more pixels than a typical 32-inch 4K monitor.
- Refresh Rate and Response Time: Fast-paced gaming benefits from high refresh rates and low response times. This monitor supports up to 330Hz (in WFHD mode) and boasts a near-instantaneous 0.03ms (GtG) response time, positioning it at the forefront for smooth, blur-free action.
- Color Accuracy and HDR: For creators and gamers alike, accurate color and HDR support mean more lifelike and engaging visuals. The monitor is UL-verified for color fidelity, covers up to 99.5% DCI-P3, and is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified.
- Connectivity: Modern setups often require multiple input options and power delivery. The monitor includes DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, and USB-C with 90W power delivery. More detailed information about the number and type of ports is not listed, so I suggest checking the product page if you have specific needs.
- Ergonomics and Build: Adjustability, mounting options, and physical dimensions are important for fitting the monitor into your workspace. The product listing does not specify details about the stand, tilt, height adjustment, or VESA compatibility, so these aspects are not listed.
